Caffeine Privacy Policy
Scope and operator
This policy applies to Caffeine and its Mac App Store edition, Caffeine Session, provided by joo minjae. It is separate from the SoriCue voice app policy. The sections below distinguish processing inside the Caffeine app from visits to this website and voluntary email support.
App information stays on your Mac
Caffeine does not use accounts, advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs, or automatic server uploads. Session options, presets, selected app identifiers and automation rules, shortcuts, and language preferences are stored locally on your Mac. The app does not send these settings to developer servers.
Local system information
Sleep prevention and automation use power, battery, display, running-app status, and macOS thermal state. An automation condition checks whether an app is running; it does not inspect recording, download, or rendering contents or completion. The App Store edition does not read measured temperatures or fan RPM and does not control fans. The Direct edition reads supported sensors and fans locally and controls fans only with the separately authorized permission. External-display identifiers used for brightness are also stored locally and excluded from support diagnostics.
Optional history and manually saved diagnostics
Session history is off by default. When enabled, it stores up to 100 local entries with session state, time, and whether a session was automatic. You can delete or export them. Support diagnostics are generated only when you choose to save a file. They contain app/build, session state, and error categories while excluding accounts, device serial numbers, personal file paths, and running-app lists. Files are not automatically transmitted.
Your choices and permissions
Automation rules, launch at login, and the global shortcut run when enabled by you. The Direct edition requests notification permission when you enable high-temperature notifications. Quitting the app releases the current session’s sleep prevention. The local 3D view uses bundled files rather than advertising, tracking, or remote content.
Email support
The email address, message, and attachments you voluntarily send to support are used to respond to your request and resolve issues. Check attachments for sensitive information before sending. We retain information for the support purpose and delete information that is no longer needed after that purpose is fulfilled. Records subject to a legal retention obligation may be retained for the required period. You can request access, correction, or deletion of support information using the same contact address.
Website and email providers
This support website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Service-operation information associated with a website visit, such as an IP address, may be processed under GitHub’s policies. Support uses Google Gmail, so messages and attachments are processed by Google’s email service. Caffeine does not automatically send local settings or history to this website or email service.
